In the match played between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, Mumbai decided to bat first before winning the toss and lost five wickets and set a target of 169 runs. Delhi's team could only manage 128 runs and lose by 40 runs, losing 9 wickets.
                                        With a spectacular display of spinners on the slow pitch of Feroz Shah Kotla in the lead of Rahul Chahar, Mumbai Indians, on Thursday, won by 40 runs here, banned the Delhi Capitals' triumph of winning three consecutive wins in the IPL. Delhi's target of 169 runs was but their team could score only 128 runs on nine wickets.

                                        Shikhar Dhawan (35 off 22 balls) and Prithvi Sav (24 on 24 balls) added 49 runs for the first wicket but after that, the fall of the wickets started, which continued till the end. Mumbai's three spinners Chahar, Jayant Yadav (25 runs in four overs) and Kunal Pandya (seven runs in one over) got only 51 runs in 10 overs and took 4 wickets.                                         Earlier, Hardik Pandya scored 32 runs off 15 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes in the death overs. Hardik and his brother Krunal (37 not out in 26 balls) raised 50 runs in the last three overs, despite struggling against Mumbai's middle-order, they managed to score 168 for five wickets. Quinton de Kock (35 off 27 balls) and captain Rohit Sharma (30 runs in 22 balls) added 57 runs for the first wicket to give Mumbai a good start.

                                        Mumbai Indians have defeated Delhi Capitals by 40 runs. Earlier, while batting, Mumbai scored 168 for five at the end of the innings with the strong batting of Hardik and Kunal Pandya. Subsequently, the performance of spinner Rahul Chahar (3/19) helped Mumbai to make 128 runs in 9 wickets. With this victory, Mumbai has reached the second spot with 12 points in the table and Delhi has slipped to third place.

                                     Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw gave a good start to Delhi Capitals. Dhawan was trying to keep up the pace while taking advantage of his experience. Dhawan remained unlucky to be bold in an effort to reverse sweep Rahul Chahar's ball. The ball hit the pad and hit the wickets. The Mumbai bowlers took advantage of this wicket and kept Delhi on a consistent backfoot. Delhi could make 128 runs in nine overs in nine overs. He had to face defeat by 40 runs in this match.
